PE and Sport Premium

At GOPA, we provide a broad PE curriculum and a range of extra-curricular sports clubs. Through government funding linked to the Olympic legacy, we aim to improve PE and sport for all pupils. This funding supports collaboration, raises participation, and enhances achievement across the school.

Use of Sports Premium Funding: 

• Employing a qualified sports coach to work alongside staff, improving lesson quality and staff development 
• Accessing Bedford and North Bedfordshire School Sport Partnerships for CPD, inter-school competitions, and extra-curricular support 
• Adapting and monitoring PE schemes using the Cambridgeshire Scheme to suit pupil needs 
• Offering a variety of after-school and lunchtime sports clubs to boost participation 
• Increasing competitive opportunities through intra- and inter-school events 
• Developing sports leadership for gifted pupils and providing targeted interventions 
• Purchasing equipment to introduce new sports.
